The Fair...

Wednesday evening we went to the East Idaho State Fair with some tickets that David got from his work. We happened to see alot of my family there. We watched my nephews wife perform (sing on stage) - she always does an awesome job! We looked at some of the booths, ate some yummy food and saw the animals. The boys loved it all! I saw a little of me last night - I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree - I loved horses when I was little (still do) and Bryson loves them too. When we got to the horse stables he was so excited. We came up on the next aisle of stalls and saw that some horses were for adoption - he was all excited - asking if we could please adopt one and had it all worked out of where we could keep it. I used to do this when I was little - this was my favorite part of the fair - looking at and petting the horses and then there would be the ones for sale and I would ask my mom if we could please buy one - I would come up with all sorts of ideas of how we could buy it and I would take such good care of it. (We already had a good horse - don't know why I needed another one - oh well, it's ok to dream, isn't it?) It was like a trip down memory lane. Needless to say we didn't come home with a horse. Can I just say a little about the food? It's good but HOLY COW! They want $5 for a baked potato!! OK - it did have stroganoff and cheese on it but geesh! And - $3 a bag for cotton candy! Pretty cRaZy - pretty darn expensive! My favorite is the Scone Nuggets - yummy! It was a good night out! I forgot the camera and so hence the pictures below. However, we did take a picture with David's phone of the boys eating and enjoying their expensive cotton candy! :)

Savor the taste...

Ahh the Fair! What would childhood days be like without it? Have to agree with you on the price of food...nearly knocks your socks of just to contemplate it but...YUUUUUMMMY!!! We have forgone the fair for two years now and I'm going through withdrawls just reading your post.

Horses, fresh hay...fresh manure,(sorry, had to add it!) swishing tails and as pretty as can be! My favorite part too. Gotta love em!
