A Haircut...

So the day has finally come that we gave Mason a haircut. It actually was a couple of weeks ago - just getting around to posting it now. It was kind of sad... those little curls just being snipped off. I loved his little curls, but it was time... time for the haircut. I had to hold him and entertain him while David did the snip, snip, snipping. Just look at those precious little curls. Sigh...

Here he is a after he just woke up from his nap after his 1st haircut! Looks like a little boy now and not a baby anymore. Ahhhh... sad. Little buddy is growin' up - he's my little man. :)

Can't really see his hair in this picture - just thought it was cute, him peeking through the bars of his crib, smile on his face and his little hands just hanging on. Love this little boy! :)

Preschool...

Yes, today was Logan's first day at Preschool! He was so excited (if you couldn't tell by his smiles in these pictures.) I on the other hand was a bit sad - excited for him but sad at the same time. My little buddy is growing up - he's had a lot of "firsts" these last couple of months and he is indeed growing up - but his excitement for everything quickly catches up to me and I get excited for him. Notice the green - his favorite color.

His awesome backpack - Toy Story. He saw this in Target and put it on and wore it around the whole store - even when he was looking at the toys. "This is the backpack, Mom." What is it with my boys and backpacks this year? He was soooo excited to show it to anyone who came to the house. Too cute.

Getting ready to go!

Walking up to Mrs. Ottley's preschool. Look at him... so excited to get in there and get started.

Waiting by the top of the stairs making sure it's really OK that he go down to Preschool.

Hanging up his backpack and jacket.

Then Mrs. Ottley asked him to go find his name at one of the tables where his chair would be. He spotted it first thing and I wish I could of gotten a picture of his face and smile when he turned to me to show me that he had his very own chair and name on the table. He was just beaming - it was soooo cute - but I missed it with the camera - darn it. He began building with the legos.

When I picked him up he came walking out and the first thing he said was, "Mom!! I have HOMEWORK!!" He was just smiling and smiling - so proud to finally be able to have homework like his older brothers - we'll see if this excitement over homework holds for the upcoming years. :) It was really cute. I then asked him where it was and he turned around and pointed and told me that it was in his back pack. Too cute! Love that boy! :)

Back to School...

Back to school time! The boys don't want the summer to end but are excited to see their friends again. Bryson is in the 4th grade and Dillon is in the 3rd grade. First day of school... they were so excited. They are both at Riverview Elementary this year - the new school. It is quite impressive - very high tech. They were pushing it to get it done so on registration day they had to leave their back packs there with their school supplies because there were no desks yet - hence the missing back packs in the pictures below. My boys are growing up!

OK - now we're just getting a bit silly waiting for the bus to come.

Home from the first day... when asked how school was Bryson said, "Good!! My teacher is really nice." and Dillon answered, "Miss Call is really really nice. We got our desks today." Then they both informed me that they each saw the girls they like. Funny boys.

This is the 2nd day of school but they wanted pictures taken with their back packs on. They just HAD TO HAVE these sling back packs this year. I don't particularly like them (not enough room, hard to zip up when your in a hurry because it's on a slant) but oh, they do. Too funny. Here's hoping to a good school year! :)

Recap of Summer (Part 3)...

AUGUST

Bryson started up swimming lessons. He really enjoyed it this year - said it was his "best" year.

He did a great job! Here he is doing a flip off the diving board. Getting a little daring?

The boys LoVe to dress up and play out the parts. Dillon and Logan playing hit the deck as cowboys out on the trampoline.

The laser gun glasses, again. He just loves these things.

Logan and his best friend Karter dressed up as knights - ready to slay the dragon!

Bryson helping Logan learn to ride a bike without training wheels. He is doing a really good job. Just needs a bit more practice.

Woops! At least he's smiling.

The field on the left side of us is grain this year and it's harvesting time in these parts. Logan has been asking almost every day when the combine is coming. Well, he was not disappointed this evening. He watched through the windows of the house and was soooo excited. David finally took him out and asked Ray if he could have a ride in the combine. David and him drove in the combine until 11:00 p.m.!! He loved every minute of it! He was in heaven.

The next morning and day they finished upithe field.

2 cute boys watching, not wanting to miss a thing.

So the next day, I heard Logan go out the door and thought he was going to ride his bike. I look out a little later and this is what I see. Him trying to plant his "wheat". He had hauled over water in the little blue bucket, dug up some weeds (thinking they were wheat) and put them in his little red wheelbarrow and then dug a hole and began to plant the "wheat". I didn't have the heart to tell him that it really was a weed and that it probably wasn't going to grow but die. So, I let him have at it. Then he came in and said, "I got my wheat all planted." Cute!

This month at Pack Meeting Bryson earned his Bear award and he did 40 electives which gave him 1 gold arrow point and 3 silver arrow points. Great job buddy on your hard work!!
