Just for FUN...

Some things just for FuN - we are really getting excited for warmer weather and summer summer summer!!! Yay for the sun that we've had the last couple of days - keep bringin it on!! So after dinner the other night we broke out the S'mores Maker...

You can make S'mores in your microwave in 30 seconds and they are pretty tasty!! Nothing like the original - campfire crackling, roasting marshmallows till their golden toasty brown and then sandwiching it between a crisp graham cracker and yummy sweet chocolate that melts in your mouth - mmmm, makes my mouth water just to think about it. :) But these are pretty good - the chocolate melts very well and is kind of messy but the boys LOVED it - as you can see!

More things just for FUN... Bryson learning how to juggle.

Dillon made another Walley this year out of recycled products and he said he was going to make it even bigger and better than last years - and so he did. Great job Buddy!! :)

Then we went bowling the other day - just for FUN. Bryson kept asking why we were going bowling - is it for someones birthday? Why? Why are we going bowling? I had to tell him 3 times at least - just for FUN!!! Oh was all he said. All 3 boys had so much FUN and we will definately try to do it more often.

OK - this isn't really for FUN but it is FUN-ny - Logan wanted to help his dad in the basement but I told him he had to get socks and shoes on first (no carpet yet) so this is what he got on. Green holey socks and green flip flops!! Lately every time I try to take a picture of Logan he tries to show me the whole inside of his mouth - I do not know why - hence, the picture below. Too funny!!

Then there is little Mason - I'm sure it's not too long before he will be walking. He walks along the furniture and will stand by himself but isn't too sure about taking steps unless someone is there to help him. He brightens my day - his smile and (his sense of humor) he has a little funny side to him already. Love him, love him!! :)

His 2 little bottom teeth are showing in this picture - his top 2 have just broke through. Yay! He didn't like that too much.

Love his flippy hair on the sides and little curls in the back. So cute - I can't believe he is almost 1!!!

2010 Pinewood Derby...

Another Pinewood Derby... this year we had 2 cars racing in the derby. The boys were so excited. They were so careful in painting their cars - Dillon's was a sparkly dark blue with a yellow lightening bolt down the top middle and a yellow stripe down the back and Bryson's was all black with a wide red stripe up the top front. We were over it again this year. Here are all the cub scouts cars after they had passed inspection (except Dillon's, at the last minute we had to do some quick repairs).

Before the races began - Dillon was awarded his Bobcat award - ya Buddy!!

Once the races began it was non stop cheering. This year it was a round robin double elimination - so they raced alot! It was fun! Here is Bryson and Orion Frost watching their cars race eachother.

I guess because Dillon's car was getting repaired it didn't get counted in the final count up and so they thought there were only 9 cars instead of 10 cars to race against. So, for the first 5 or 6 races he just sat munching down on his hot dog and pop corn and chips. Then we realized that he hadn't raced his car once - he raced the next 6 races against the other cars to get him caught up with the other boys. I was so proud of him, he could of been really upset about the whole thing - he was a good sport about it. He said that the best part of it all was eating his hot dog and popcorn and racing! He was just happy to be there!

While the officials totaled up the races and winners for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places and got the awards from the judge ready we had a Cub Car Relay Race. It was a relay race with gear - a bike helmet and swimming goggles and a race car, with mandatory pit stops - fill up with gas (drink a glass of water), windshield washed (spray in the face with a spray bottle and then wiped off), hop through 6 tires, weave in and out of road cones, and then change your tires (take your shoes off and then put them back on). They were racing for the best time. Below is Logan trying out the race, getting his "windshield" washed and wiped off. Too cute! :)

Well, the results were in - Bryson won 3rd place!! He was so excited!! There actually were 4 boys that tied for 3rd place so the officials went back and saw who won who in earlier races and Bryson was 3rd and then Dillon was 4th!! Dillon was pretty excited about that - said it was his closest ever in getting a trophy (it was actually his first time at trying for a trophy - too cute!).

What the Boys Have Been Up To...

Well - this is a little of what the boys have been up to in January. The younger two have been sick for the most part of January - not fun. Ended up that they got RSV - found this out with the 2nd doctor that saw Mason - long story about that one. Anyways, they both had it but Mason was worse off and the Dr. said he should of been in the hospital but he responded to a breathing treatment that they gave him and so he let us go home and said to watch him really close. Breathing treatments for the next 2 days, every 4 hours and antibiotics for double ear infections for Logan and 1 ear infection for Mason. Logan was great - he would just sit there and keep doing what he was doing with his little dinosaur mask on, Mason on the other hand would fight it every time. Now, they are on the up and up and feeling lots better - they both have their appetites back and running/crawling around again. :)

I was getting ready and Logan ran in and said, "I'm taking care of Maser (this is what he affectionately calls Mason)." OK - thought I should check just in case. I came out and this is what I saw - Logan had wrapped Mason up in his blanket because he was "cold" and doesn't feel good. It was so cute to see him taking care of Mason. This was before they started the breathing treatments and antibiotics - you can tell Mason doesn't feel very good.

Basketball is in full swing for the older 2 boys. This year they are not on the same team because Bryson is in 3rd grade and the teams go from K-2 and then 3-4. So, our Saturdays have pretty much been full of basketball - not that I mind, it's been fun to watch them, it just comes a little EARLY in the morning - Bryson's games are at 8 and 9 in the morning (most of them are at 8!) and Dillon's are mostly in the late afternoon - 3,4 and 5. They are getting better and better.

The boys got these for Christmas. You can make your own Icee slushee or your own Coldstone Ice cream. They were so excited. It comes with some ingredients - you add ice and water or milk (fyi - you must use cream or whole milk for the icecream - not skim milk (but that is all we had right then). Once you mix everything together you have to shake it for 4 minutes - to 3 little boys, 4 minutes can seem pretty long but they were determined to get the yummy end result.

Well, I'll tell ya.... yummy! He really liked it and ate the whole thing.

Well, he decided to try it anyway - the picture says it all. We all tried it - yep, y-u-c-k-y. Must use cream or whole milk - we are going to try it again using the right stuff. It was kind of funny though - the look on his face. :)

The other day Bryson wanted to take some pictures - this is what he took pictures of...

He lined up all the plastic figurines of army guys, fireman guys and indian guys...

... and Dillon's holey socks! Makes me laugh that boy. :)
