Spring in Idaho...

Well, the boys were out for Spring Break last week - the weekend before was actually nicer weather than their week of Spring Break. So, they were out riding around on their bikes and scooters and yes, Bryson is wearing roller skates while riding his bike! Very multi-talented I must say! It was funny because I was looking at some older pictures and when he was 4 or 5 he had a pair of little roller skates on and there he was again, riding a (smaller) bike but with roller skates on again. Silly boy!

OK - I think Mother Nature had to let us know that she was still in charge after that snowstorm/blizzard/WINDstorm the other night - I guess it was Sunday night? Anyways - I should be used to it by now, living in Idaho my whole life. I woke up at 1:15 a.m., the lights were on and David putting on his coveralls, boots and gloves and hat and saying that the trampoline was gone! I was a little out of it so he had to tell me 3 times. What? It has skidded across the lawn but stopped at the field in previous storms. Not this time - I got up and looked out into the blowing snow and yep, it was gone. He went and tried to find it - walking in both directions to about the middle of each field, in the raging storm, no less, but nope, he couldn't find it. The next morning we saw some of the legs in the field and so he walked through the field to Bryan and Mary's house, over their fence and through Kent and Stan Searle's yards and then he saw it - it was by the cellars down where Karl Kelley used to live. That is almost a mile from our house. Luckily it is mostly still intact and only bent one of the legs which hopefully we can fix. David said that he is now going to chain it to a tree! :) Below are the legs he found scattered throughout the field. I'm just glad it didn't do any damage to anyones property. Geesh!

Grandpa...

My dear grandpa, Leonard Wayne Christensen, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2009. He was 94 years old and lived a long and productive life. He was definately a "go-getter" clear up until these last couple of years when he was to ill to get around. This is a picture of him and my grandma when they were younger. I love this picture. Grandma passed away about 13 years ago and Grandpa sure loved and missed her so much - I am sure they had a sweet reunion. We had his funeral today and everything was really nice. I was able to type up the Life Sketch for my mom for the funeral and it was neat to do so because I got to learn even more about him and his life.



This is Halloween 2006 (I kept forgetting to take my camera these last couple of years - so this is the most recent pic I have of him with our family). The boys would love to go see Grandpa on Halloween. He would talk about how neat their costumes were and would joke around with them. They say they remember him being funny and joking. I remember one time David had dressed up (like he is in this picture) for Halloween like a truck driver and had put a pillow around his waist and then the flannel over it and was wearing the hat with the wig and had put tootsie roll over some of his teeth and grandpa didn't know what to think. He kept saying - "Boy, your hair is sure getting long." and so on and just kept looking at him. For a long time after that he kept saying things like, "I'm sure glad you cut your hair." It was funny. Grandpa loved to be around family. We love and will miss you Grandpa.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HONEY!

David informed me that we are now closer to 40 then we are to 20!! OHHHH! I told him we can't look at it that way! Yep, we are getting old. Getting old TOGETHER! :) I am glad to say that I have been married to this wonderful man for 11 1/2 years and were together for 7 years prior to that. David thank you for always loving me in whatever I do, for working so hard and providing for our family, and for giving me 3 (almost 4 :) ) handsome sons, and for being such a great dad. Love you!! :)

EASTER 2004 - This is Bryson ready to drop the food coloring tablets into the bowls so that we can dye easter eggs. Wow - he looks so little. He was just 4 years old! How time flies! :) It's getting to be that time of year again - Easter egg hunts, dying eggs and finding candy. Yummy! :)

Just for fun...

St. Patrick's Day is just kind of a fun day - and the boys are all over the pinching thing - watch out! :) I started doing a "green" dinner last year as a tradition and thought we should continue it because the boys thought it was fun. So this was our "green" dinner - oh, I forgot the protein for dinner so we improvised - peanut butter on the celery sticks. He, he, he. :) Green macaroni and cheese, green grapes, green apples with caramel dip, green peas, and green celery with peanut butter and green doughnuts. The boys had fun with it.

The boys realized that Dad wasn't wearing green - he forgot! They got their "pinchers" out and were ready to get him! :)

David went shooting last Saturday with some of his friends. It is something that he likes to do "just for fun"! Guns make me really nervous but he is always careful and has alot of fun doing it. He hasn't been able to go for a while so I was glad he went. Nice shot, honey! :)

Welcome SpRiNg...

I don't know if it's because it seems to have been a long winter or if its just because I am 3 1/2 weeks away from having a baby but I am sure ready for SPRING!! The other day I was coming home from Idaho Falls and saw some robins pecking the brown grass - it made me smile - yes, brown even makes me smile and feel happier at this point. :)

Well, today the boys were really wanting to go to their school playground and show me what they play on at recess. It was a little cool (only 36 degrees) outside, but it sure felt good to be outside and have the sun hitting our faces. We stayed for about 45 minutes and they had so much fun!

Valentine's Day & Other Random Things...

Valentine's Day was busy but fun for us. We made heart pancakes with chokecherry syrup for breakfast (sorry, I tried to turn the picture but it kept changing it back when I would copy it over - so, imagine it turned horizontally. :) )


Then I had to go to work until 2:00 and the boys then had a basketball game. Then we came home and relaxed for a bit before starting dinner. We usually have dinner by candlelight with the boys on Valentine's Day rather than try and go out because every place is so crowded and you have to wait for forever to get a table and eat, so we have learned that we just stay home with the boys. We usually have spaghetti, french bread, cherry 7Up (the boys favorite), beans and cherry cheesecake for dessert. Well, this year we changed things up just a bit and had Tortallini (spelling?), shrimp (ugh - but David, Bryson and Logan love it!), french bread, beans, Cherry 7Up and cherry cheesecake. The boys always love this dinner, I don't know if its the candles or the glasses we put the cherry 7 Up in or what but they get so excited about it. After we ate we were invited to our friends house to play games and have some more yummy dessert. (And it was yummy! :) ) Then off to bed for the boys and David and I watched a chic flick - I know, he is so good to watch those with me. :)

The other night when the boys were getting ready for bed Bryson and Logan were playing with George (Curious George) and Bryson told Logan that it was time to put "Dorge" (that is how Logan says it) to bed. They put a pair of Logan's underwear (Handy Manny) on him, a pair of hot wheels slippers (they were actually just the right size for George), and a sun hat and then put him to bed with a bunch of blankets and pillows. What a combination! Then of course they all said that they needed a picture taken by George. Funny boys!

Dillon came home from school the other day with this - he had made "Walley" (from the Disney movie) from recycled materials at school. He did such a good job on it - he is so proud of it.

And lastly, the boys were taking baths the other night and Bryson and Dillon had put their swimming goggles on and were going under the water and so on... well, the next thing I hear is little feet running and then a splash in the tub. I went in to see what was going on. Logan doesn't have any "swimming" goggles but he does have a pair of goggles that came with a set of toy tools he has. He had run out and got them and put them on in the tub. Needless to say they don't keep out water like "swimming" goggles do but he was happy with them anyway. He was so excited that he had some "gogo's" too. Oh... and those are Dillon's feet in the picture. :)
